For 2.5 years, I worked as a radio news reporter for WRFI, a radio station servicing Central New York.
The creation of the Bridged series would be a highlight of my radio year. I managed a team of 12 journalists to produce weekly investigative content to air on the radio station. From loneliness to housing inequality, each season our reporters would break down a complex national topic through more of a local lens.
Our series on “Loneliness” won a New York State Broadcasters Association award for “Best Public Affairs Series.”
Ultimately, my leadership and ability create first-of-its-kind investigative content raised awareness, prestige, and number of listeners for the station.
